Acorn Training achieves a 100% distinction rate in Operations Manager Apprenticeships

  • National training provider successfully supported learners to complete their Operations Manager apprenticeship
  • All learners through end-point assessment received a distinction grading with the average score of assessed learners at 80/100
  • Acorn Training Managing Director and winner of the World Skills Diversity and Inclusion Heroes Role Model Award, Gareth Saldanha-Fallows, is credited as the tutor for delivery of the Operations Manager standard

(Monday 6th December, 2021) Acorn Training celebrates a 100% distinction grading achieved by all learners on their Operations Manager Apprenticeship delivery. The key areas of requirement for the standard, which is usually delivered over 24 months, include organisational performance – delivering results, interpersonal excellence – managing people & developing relationships and personal effectiveness – managing self. The Acorn Training learners also demonstrated excellent scores in their end-point assessments with an average of 80/100, with one learner, Siobhan Clegg, achieving 98%.

Siobhan shares her joy in the result “My apprenticeship has equipped me with valuable knowledge and confidence in my managerial role.  This has enabled me to practically apply learnt management tools and techniques to better lead my team and improve our overall success. I have thoroughly enjoyed the learning and the challenge to strive to develop both personally and professionally. I felt well-supported by my tutor along the way and I am very proud to receive a distinction.  I would thoroughly recommend this apprenticeship journey to anyone in an operational management role.”

The team at Acorn Training ensure each apprenticeship is tailored to the individual learner and employer by establishing the learner’s starting point and reviewing the needs of the employer. This is done by creating an individualised plan of teaching, learning and assessment. Gareth is credited as the tutor who delivered this particular standard to the learners and supported them along their apprenticeship journey. Commenting on the success rates, Gareth said “I am extremely proud of all of our learners, they have demonstrated excellent understanding and commitment to the apprenticeship; embracing the learning opportunity to develop themselves as a manager. I worked with each learner on a one to one basis to assess their personal needs, ensure the teaching is relevant to their role and support them, both professionally and personally, through the challenges of learning. The COVD-19 pandemic created many barriers to learning, however, I built additional care into the programme to ensure they were supported emotionally throughout. I’m confident that all of those who have completed the apprenticeship will continue to implement the learning on a daily basis in their professional careers”.
