Acorn Training Ltd is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all its learners / customers / service users.  We believe that:

  • All children / young people and adults at risk have the right to be protected from harm;
  • Learners / customers / service users need to be safe and to feel safe when accessing our services
  • Learners / customers / service users need support which matches their individual needs, including those who may have experienced abuse; 
  • Learners / customers / service users have the right to speak freely and voice their values and beliefs;
  • All Learners / customers / service users must be encouraged to respect each other’s values and support each other;
  • All Learners / customers / service users have the right to be supported to meet their emotional, and social needs as well as their educational needs – a happy healthy sociable child / young person will achieve better educationally and adults at risk remain safe and independent;
  • Our services can and do contribute to the prevention of abuse, victimisation, bullying, exploitation, extreme behaviours, discriminatory views and risk-taking behaviours; and
  • All employee and visitors have an important role to play in safeguarding Learners / customers / service users and protecting them from abuse.

Our Safeguarding Policy further explains the important steps we take to prevent risk. 

Acorn Training Ltd aims to design and implement policy documents that meet the diverse needs of our service, population and workforce, ensuring that none are placed at a disadvantage over others.

It takes into account the provisions of the Equality Act 2010 and promotes equal opportunities for all.

This document has been assessed to ensure that no one receives less favourable treatment on the protected characteristics of their age, disability, sex (gender), gender reassignment, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership, race, religion or belief, pregnancy and maternity.

In carrying out its functions, Acorn Training Ltd must have due regard to the different needs of different protected equality groups.

This applies to all the activities for which Acorn Training Ltd is responsible, including policy development and review.

Our policy explains how we ensure equal opportunities for all. 

Acorn Training Ltd operates in a highly regulated industry and are a members of a number of supply chains and partnerships that operate with head agreements with the Education and Skills Funding Agency, Ministry of Justice, Department for Work and Pensions and NHS Trusts in The United Kingdom. Acorn Training also operates with a head agreement for services with the Education and Skills Funding Agency.

Acorn Training Ltd is a member of The Employment Related Services Association and Association of Employment and Learning Providers. The lead industry bodies for employment and training services.

Our policy details how Acorn Training Ltd has undertaken a risk assessment to control the risks associated with Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking; holistically monitor our supply chains and the way in which we conduct business. This risk assessment includes a number of controls and Key Performance Indicators within our Quality Management System to ensure that Acorn Training Ltd operates with due regard and within the laws associated with slavery and human trafficking (Modern Slavery Act 2015). Our Quality Management System is ISO9001 and ISO27001 accredited.

This sets out the Formal Complaints Handling Procedure for Acorn Training Ltd. The Company is committed to providing its learners and customers with the best possible service across the whole range of its activities.
The quality of service that we provide is important and is monitored through the Quality Review and Self Assessment Process.

This describes the framework of a complaints handling procedure that we operate for our learners and customers should we fail to meet our standards of service.

Acorn Training Ltd is committed to compliance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations 2018.

Acorn Training Ltd will therefore follow procedures which aim to ensure that all employees, elected members, contractors, agents, consultants, partners or other servants of the company who have access to any personal data held by or on behalf of the company, are fully aware of and abide by their duties under the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.

Acorn Training Ltd is committed to providing all learners and apprentices with a quality remote learning experience, following the updated Government guidance.

Acorn Training Ltd provide regular contact with all employer partners, working with them to understand the changing needs and challenges in their business during lockdown and agreeing appropriate flexible support.

Operations can continue by working with learners and apprentices while they are placed on furlough, providing support and motivation for their learning from home.

Acorn Training Ltd works with a range of diverse cross-sector partners who add value and support us delivering better outcomes for our learners.

Acorn Training Ltd Limited is required by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) to provide the following information in relation to subcontracted activity;

Acorn Training Ltd will, declare to the ESFA the amount of subcontracted provision undertaken, provide a declaration of the individual providers whom Acorn Training Ltd subcontract with, this information will be updated & published on the Acorn Training Ltd website on a yearly basis, additionally, ensuring that Acorn Training Ltd are within the guidelines set out by the ESFA with regards to having plans to have a cap on subcontracting of up to a maximum of 25% per funding stream by August 2022.
